Cherry Festival, North East PA | First Pro Camera

Growing up, I always wanted a camera. My father had one, and I used to sneak in his office to grab it and take pictures with it. I even took it to school. I got caught eventually, but my father understood my desire to capture events, and decided to buy me something similar. He bought an LG camcorder that I cherished until it broke in my clumsy hands. Since then, I used my phone to take pictures, until I got the ability to get a new one for myself.

When I got to the USA in 2012, I stopped by Best Buy and was just mesmerized by the different cameras and gadgets they had in store, let alone online. They were expensive and out of reach for a college student with no job. However, I told myself that when I have the means, I would definitely buy one and get back to photography.

Fast forward in July 2019, I finally saved up enough money to buy me a camera, just in time for the Cherry Festival in North East PA. I was so excited to learn how to take better pictures, and not let the camera do everything. I took almost a hundred(100) pictures that night, and was able to edit four(4). The rest were blurry, out of focus, or just dark.

North East, PA is well known for their wine festival. They grow their own grapes, and sell them locally, making it a place to go to to wine taste, so many choices. They are also known for the North East Firemen’s Cherry Festival (or Cherry Festival for short).

The fair is held in Heard Park in historic downtown North East, PA.
