Good Morning Cincinnati !

Covid has changed a lot of things for my husband and I. We have had time to enjoy each other company to the point that we sometimes get tired of seeing each other. But the biggest gift we got from these crazy few months of “Freedom” is that it gave us time to do what we always wanted to do: get up and go. Go where? Anywhere the breeze takes us!

6 hours away from Erie, Cincinnati is not far of a drive to go visit. While my husband and I enjoy traveling and visiting new places, we always had constraints that would send us far away from Cincinnati. From always hearing the different cities in Ohio, we have only been to Cleveland. On our route to visit family in Georgia, we decided to stop to Cincinnati for a day and, why not do what we usually do in Erie, visit parks. And that’s exactly what we did =D !

A little bit of History

“The legendary roman is seen here after he had defeated the Aequians and rescued the trapped Roman army, with one hand he returns the Fasces, symbol of power as appointed dictator of Rome. His other hand holds the Plows, as he resumes the life of a citizen and farmer.

Our city was named in 1790 by Governor Arthus St. Clair, member of the society of the Cincinnati, an order of Revolutionary war officers whose first president was George Washington.

Given to the City to honor the volunteer spirit of the citizen-soldier Cincinnatus. By members and friends of the Cincinnatus Association - 1984 “

OHIO RIVER TRAIL

The Ohio River Trail is a 4.6 mile trail where you can bike, have a picnic, play tennis, or even pickleball. I never heard of pickleball before but it was one of the most entertaining game I’ve seen. Pickleball is similar to tennis, but has half a tennis court and a flatter racket. The fact that I saw older people play the game without getting tired, compare to me after 10 minutes of playing tennis, gave me life. It gave me a reason to keep watching my health and work hard, to one day, like them, enjoy a game of pickleball on a sunny day. The route is full of beautiful flowers, and status that provide further understanding of what the city stand for, and who help made Cincinnati the city it is today. From the trail you can see Kentucky since they are only separated by the Ohio River hence the name of the trail.

I have selected my favorite pictures from the place. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.
